Mechanism

How leggit works, in detail

From the verification of your death to the actual release of the vault, here is everything that happens behind the scenes — without technical jargon.

Death verification

Before any release, leggit must be certain that you have passed away. Four independent paths can provide this information, and you decide how many are required.

Life witness

Before a death is officially confirmed, leggit uses a "proof of life" system that can trigger release if you stop responding for an extended period.

Vault release

Once death has been confirmed (or the grace period has expired), leggit applies the release mode you chose for each vault.

Joint presence

For particularly sensitive vaults, you can require recipients to submit their consent within the same time window. Like a formal opening ceremony at a notary's office.

Floor date

The vault cannot be opened before a date you set, even if all other conditions are met.

Recipient lifecycle

What happens if a recipient dies, refuses, or disappears before the vault is opened?
